FINAL FANTASY XIV, The Lodestone

The first one out is A Friendship of Record, from the point of view of the man that the Watcher once was, and it is sweet and sad. (And has an option for WoL gender at the top for when the new Azem is mentioned.)

Implication that the last Azem wasn't born in Amaurot.

Which is kinda fascinating, yeah~! Though I’m not 100% sure of that, what with the friendship with Hythlo and Hades before Hades became Emet-Selch. The timeline seems to be a little uncertain there...?

(At least, as far as my currently scattered brain is concerned)

I'd gotten the impression that our Azem had their title for a good while before Hades got his.

Though if our Azem was from somewhere else, that would imply they didn't meet Hades and Hyth until they were already a Convocation member.

I feel the need to go re-read Hyth’s story to see what that says. Of course, considering that the Ancient Ones didn’t see a span of centuries as anything particularly remarkable, there are plenty of opportunities and time still available.

There’s also the possibility that our Azem was born in Amaurot, but Venat just met them while they were both out and about on journeys! After all, Venat travelled about before she became elected to the seat of Azem.

...okay, I derped in that Hyth doesn’t have a story, and I was thinking of his confidences to the WoL when Emet was teaching the proto-Sanuwa thingy to fly. >.>
