(like with the slave-seller in Alfredo's canon, he is not above sacrificing himself to help save the ship, just because he doesn't trust/like them.
buuut his death would also probably Not Help Any, so I might avoid that. |D)

(the slave-seller was drowning, and Alfredo+Romeo worked together to help rescue him, as well as make sure any pneumonia didn't end the man instead.)
