- when I originally did my team preference list based on aesthetics I put salamander near the bottom bc red canonically is noted to not suit Yuki. however he is canonically noted to not suit Yuki by Kakeru who is assigning him red anyway (as a tokusatsu role because he's the group's Leader.)
I took him from prior to finding out it's 'Machi's favorite color' (he gave her a maple leaf and then thought maybe she liked it because of the color) but it becomes a point of connection there too, and also Yuki calls orange garish at one point BUT WHEN HE WAS A KID HE CALLED IT PRETTY,
so he has a whole thematic relationship with warm colors and esp red of 'this doesn't suit the image I'm supposed to have so it's something for other people instead of me' but then as he breaks out of that he ends up red,
I was thinking about this cuz I was picking out rocks for cr and even independently of Salamander Zwei Baskerville and the Scarabias have red associations also
not even necessarily in a shippy way though he did more or less pull a horizontal equivalent on Zwei earlier in this thread which is also good. I was thinking about this because he might pull it on Jesper though
it's funny bc obviously Yuki is very conscious of his distance on a surface/default level BUT THEN ONCE YOU CRACK LIKE A THIN EGGSHELL LAYER HIS SENSE OF PERSONAL SPACE JUST FUCKING VANISHES
I don't know if Takaya did this unintentionally bc it just worked for convenient gesture work/dokidoki moments or if it was actually a conscious decision of [looks at Akito] but honestly she's good at those kinds of tiny details so I think it was on purpose.
the pattern of Haru tugging on his shirt or otherwise being in his space all the time but Yuki never shoves him off. holding Momiji's face. obviously with Kyo the gag is violence but I still count that.
anyway what's funny is I don't think he would consider himself touchy at all but he absolutely is. he just considers himself reserved because he is conscious that he can't be touching people literally at all times. his personal space bubble is nonexistent.
he thinks he's being very careful and reserved with Starfish also because they are just relegated to constantly holding hands and sometimes facetouching.
he's getting red jewelry for Jamil but blue for Kalim which technically speaking is bc he associates Kalim with water for obvious reasons but also the inverse of Yuki vs warm colors is that cool colors ARE like soothing and safe to him
I wanted to give Nanami a relatively clear rock of some kind but clear quartz has no relevant witchy meanings/uses and I have been picking based on that a little
