There was like a four year stretch in the late 2000s where almost every Sonic game was "Sonic meets a cute girl, they go on adventures."

Luckily only one of these ended in actual physical romance, the other two were just "the girl has an existential crisis, Sonic solves it by being fast." but it's weird to look back and realize they did that kind of a lot in that little stretch of time.
