the only downside from what I know of your plurks about games is that you sometimes bounce off open world stuff, but it gives you direction and isn't just wander off to find something to do

combat is real-time with auto-attacks but you trigger skills and such. a lot of it is in balancing character classes though, because your characters can change classes in this game (there's something like.... 25? total I think by the end)

the combat in XB1/2 always looked kind of dense and intimidating with systems on top of systems on top of systems

if I had one complaint, the very early game does a lot of flashbacks and isn't always clear when that's happening, but just look at their ages. (which sounds obvious but in my defense, you just got introduced to these characters ok,,,,)
