Me: Hi, do you have a disabled changing room? I've been to this gym before and I know the female changing rooms are downstairs, but I want to bring someone who can't use stairs. Employee: Yeah! There are disabled stalls in the female changing room! Me: And you can get to them without using stairs? Employee: I don't think so.
This is our 2017 trip to Melbourne all over again where we booked a place that said it had wheelchair access. Which, they did have a wheelchair lift, after going up a flight of stairs
He then went on to admit he doesn't know what's in the female change rooms because he's never been in them. Was just assuming they'd have a disabled one.
Then he went to check and there is apparently a disabled changing room inside of the male dressing area that does not require stairs to get in. So, success
Although we do still have one more hurdle in that the main entrance to the gym does not have a ramp. You have to get access to it through the back. Which if Nu was alone would require calling the front desk.
The steps went by fine but I couldn't have done them without aid. Disabled toilets and lifts were found inside without issue and I worked out a little bit for the first time since I got out of rehab because I don't self motivate well
