Every now and then I drive past a church that advertises itself for speaking in tongues and I'm just like. If you're advertising it as opposed to people just being 'overcome by the holy spirit', something feels a little false there.

It's one thing if people do it spontaneously, but if it happens often enough that you feel you can advertise it, like

At some point you have to wonder if someone's just putting on a show.

(I should clarify that this is one specific church, not a rash of churches)

isn't that a big Pentecostal thing though?

I wouldn't know

I'd have to check again, but I don't think this is a Pentecostal church? I thought it was Southern Baptist, but I could be wrong
