This contraption is incredibly cursed and of course it was the brainchild of Action Park's owner
🍔 YEDONG...
biblically accurate hamster ball
🍔 YEDONG...
"The ball cleared a small hill, briefly going airborne, then zipped right across Route 94, the two-lane road splitting the park." Jesus Christ

this is what something being too dangerous for Action Park looks like, even
𝗍𝗈𝗈 𝗂𝗆𝗉 𝗍𝗈 𝗌𝗂𝗆𝗉
Action park. Of course.
🍔 YEDONG...
I thought nothing could be worse than the looping waterslide but I was wrong
🍔 YEDONG...
I bought the book the Slate article exerpts from ages ago, I need to get around to reading it

OF COURSE this (nearly) came about because of Action Park
BestWorstBro⟴
Also, that article was a really great read. Now I wanna buy the book

what... what was action park?
𝗍𝗈𝗈 𝗂𝗆𝗉 𝗍𝗈 𝗌𝗂𝗆𝗉
lucineblue : it was a themepark that was uh, very sketch where a lot of people were injured and some were actually killed because the attractions were all dangerous and there was no safety regulations
Rabbit Crimes
the primary method of "safety testing" the owner's invented new attractions was to tell his teenage and often minor employees to just use it complete with bonus pay bribes if people balked
Rabbit Crimes
also at least one known recurring issue of employees actively disabling the safeties on one of the rides (the speed limiters on the go-karts, specifically) not only when asked to by ride goers but often even when not asked
BestWorstBro⟴
It got the nickname "Traction Park" because you were likely to end up in traction.
BestWorstBro⟴
The park itself bought the town it was in new ambulances because, well. They were gonna need 'em.

It was also one of the first waterparks, so nobody really knew wtf they were doing
Rabbit Crimes
yeah, the biggest incident of that being that the place, uh
Rabbit Crimes
sold alcohol
Rabbit Crimes
with no way to limit how much people could have
Rabbit Crimes
people who could then get into bumper boats and go-karts and a wave pool that was an active drowning hazard even to sober people
Rabbit Crimes
water parks and theme parks took a really long time to realize open alcohol sales were maybe not the best business decision
lucineblue
oh god
