Not Stranger Things ripping off ZACH SNYDER

boodle boy
Theres a conversation to be had about homage/inspiration versus copying

boodle boy
but this was just blatant copying and it's so fucking funny

boodle boy
they watched the Dr. Manhatten scene in Watchmen, absolutely the only thing that was done well in that deeply stupid movie

boodle boy
and were like, let's do that

boodle boy
let's use the exact same music even

boodle boy
A highly distinct Philip Glass piece

boodle boy
(which I actually at first mistook as a quite clever and much more interesting nod to Candyman, which Glass did a similar sounding soundtrack for)

boodle boy
like, a get it, I think the point is the chatacter is meant as a kind of loosely inspired by Dr. Manhatten

boodle boy
But it's like, imagine if you had a chatacter who was a little inspired by Spider-Man comics

boodle boy
but instead of like giving a little obvious spider man nod, you just COPIED the train scene from Spider-Man 2 verbatim and used the same music, but otherwise made not obvious reference to spiderman

boodle boy
That's not how homage works. You can't whole cloth take an artistically distinctive scene, music, content, and style and COPY IT

boodle boy
I mean, I dont care about Zach Synder

boodle boy
I'm just losing my mind about how many people probably thoguht this VERY significant and important scene was interesting or original and dont know what a lazy rip off it is.

boodle boy
I actually think I missed a lot of what was happening because I was so distracted by it
