this seems to me like the rep making ignorant comments around her support for a racist anti-CRT bill

Yeah, the bill already has a few cosponsors, but it looks like it's been in the works since last year.

the bill itself is silent on the Holocaust, what this whole thing looks like to me is:
- conservative legislators want to introduce an anti-CRT bill because they're afraid that white kids being taught about racism will make them anti-American or something
- dipshit rep goes on the news and gives a really disjointed interview where she tries to claim that

guys there are plenty of reasons to be anti-american besides racism

the limitations on "divisive topics" won't actually silence any voices, uses the Holocaust as an example of where the prohibition on discussing race would prevent a teacher from stating that Hitler was right to try and exterminate Jewish people "because of their skin color"

during which she claims only a few hundred thousand people were killed in the holocaust; she then follows this up with an example of what would be an appropriate way of teaching the Holocaust, which would be to give a bunch of different reading assignments from different perspectives and writing a paper

so, dumb, anti-semitic, in support of a bill that's designed to prevent teachers from being able to talk about racism in the classroom

but not the same as mandating teaching "Hitler was right"

and then all the other reps distanced themselves from her because she's an idiot
