[work/uspol/uhhh b...bombs] the campus i work on got a bomb threat by phone this afternoon and we were all evacuated

there wasn't actually a bomb apparently, but we wouldnt learn that until a few hours later. wuagh

it felt really absurd and a little scary... but i love my coworkers who were all so careful about getting everyone out safely

we've had hoaxes like this happen before but damb!!! hits different in the year of our lord 2022!!!!!!!!!!!

im sitting here at home just kind of spinning my wheels ajdlfs nothing happened but it's still yikesy

this is stupid but when they described the bomb squad sweeping the buildings, i realized that my mental image of a bomb is still the cartoony black circle with a fuse. i have no idea what actual bombs look like

god I was just talking to chey about the bomb threat plague of the 90s and early 00's and how it sort of felt like a presage to today in the sense that people realized if they could get away with threats it's not a far leap to realize they can get away with acting on it too....

I'm so glad this turned out to be nothing and everyone including you are okay though
