What do you look for in a character when you choose to play them? What draws you in and makes you go “I really want to play this person somewhere”

Aside from sword girls

BACKSMITH BOI : Oooh, good question I think a lot of times, it's a sense of defiance against something

Whether that's something literal like an evil empire, or something more metaphorical like despair

Or a defiant attitude

Sarah, for instance, was a character I liked but when she jumped out as "make aa journal for this one" was the chapter when you return to her homeland and she decides "okay the five of us are enough to restore burtgang" and becomes suddenly really vocal about it
