Gil, 18: he would and he would hate himself for it, but he'd only do it if the other options were worse. like if bugsy was trying to kill him or was asking for it. bugsy doesn't threaten him in a way that would trigger a kill response by accident
Gil + Bugsy, 20: Bugsy's garbage self esteem. maybe dial that back like 20%, because it directly correlates with how much of a self-destructive egomaniac he acts on a good day. less unpredictable extremes would be nice
Eiffel + Gonou, 3: Gonou killing him is a big one. not even because he's scared of dying, but because he'd be worried that like, Gonou would really badly beat himself up over it and start avoiding him
Eiffel + Gonou, 7: he first met the knitter guy who was nice to him and left him a scarf. now he knows the killer guy who is nice to him and offered to help train him to be less pathetic in a fight, so it's still a strong net positive!
Eiffel + Gonou, 7 for real this time: I actually don't think he'd take anything! he likes Gonou a lot but I don't think he has anything that Eiffel's particularly jealous of
(his CO spent two weeks going full Rambo on a mutant plant monster with a harpoon, his captain is a crazy-paranoid survivalist who strapped a bomb to a nuclear engine, and their AI has almost killed him multiple times in trying to get someone else)
Knowing where the danger zones are is important, I suppose! Gonou is actually more comfortable around people who he also feels are outcasts/violent/also have been through Some Shit himself
(he sees Eiffel as having clearly been through some shit but also as being very much not a violent person by nature, which makes Gonou still a little bit squirrely around him. because, well, there's a lot of unexamined dramatic "clearly i should be rejected by others for my bloodstained hands!!" stuff going on there)
Hunter and Taylor, 3: ......actually no! nothing that isn't like, the general background noise of his entire existence, eg her betraying him with no warning or lying to him. stuff that wouldn't occur to him to be worried about until it actually happens
Hunter and Taylor, 6: oh man he'd compartmentalise the bug shit so fast he'd have them totally under control in like. a couple of hours, max. this is not a healthy response
Hunter and Taylor, 11: his baseline level of respect for her has done some wavering, especially through Flotilla, but in general he does like her more than when they first met. good luck getting him to admit it tho
Hunter and Taylor, 15: actually pretty similar to Taylor's. working in the greenhouse, chatting about their worlds and shit. he probably monologues about whatever he's studying if she can get him on topic for it, until he catches himself rambling
T&T, 20: how her heroic side manifests as self-sacrifice. maybe if you just let people help, babe. also if she stopped keeping bugs in her hair he'd appreciate it so he could braid her hair when they're really bored
BethampHATamine
H has a lot of faith in T, and a lot of it hinges on the fact he doesn't question what she presents to him as fact, bc why would she lie
he's not alone in being a monster lmao
