So yesterday we were given like 12 hours’ notice about this demo job. I collected dog and cat and skedaddled to my mom’s

The workers had hammered so hard they knocked two paintings on two different floors off the walls and all the bath accoutrements got dumped from shelf into tub

(Both were fine but it could have been one of the more expensive ones)

Text from Bob (Soben’s husband) last night asking if we could give the workers access to shut the water off from 8-10am

Uh no Bob you managed to pick the one day out of the month where neither me nor Sergio is home

This morning. No water. The workers called the city requesting shut off to both sides

I’m so glad I get to go into work without my teeth brushed you pieces of shit

I am dreading the noise my pets are going to be dealing with when we aren’t home to take care of them

Yikes. Our neighbor was unexpectedly rock-blasting last Monday and that was bad enough, I can't imagine how much worse dealing with surprise demolition in a shared duplex is.

My other neighbor Therese sent the most passive aggressive email to them. It was great
