Anyway hot tip, most of the time if you meet a Korean person surnamed Lee, it's pronounced ii/yi, and I kinda knew about that but didn't know how that sorted itself. Turns out that you're basically not gonna find any Lee/Ri Koreans unless they're fuckin. North Korean. By heritage. So........

Anyway now I know.

That is really interesting and also probably explains why I have so much trouble with the names in the KDrama I’m watching... I can recognize common words that my kid has learned from tae kwon do but not the character names when they’re spoken.
