the moms leave fawns somewhere during the day and go off to eat, then return around sundown to feed them. We've had this happen in the field before, but usually, like. A reasonable distance from the house.

We're kind of hoping to encourage the mom to move them, because the moms tend to be very cautious when approaching the fawn, and will actually leave if they feel like they can't get to it without being spotted.

And I mean. This is very cute, but it's right outside the kitchen window. It's going to be hard for us to know when the mom's trying to approach.

That's happened here; just keep your eyes open for the doe and retreat indoors.

yeah. We're also not sure what to do with the plants we need to water every couple days up against the house. The fawn should stay right where it is, but

we also need to make sure the dog doesn't see it, and unfortunately we've got a porch door right next to the kitchen counter

...which is where the dog usually has her bowl

deer mom decided to make us a daycare center apparently!!
