Sapphire went to the vet on Friday and after the couple of scares of the last year, is in really good shape! In fact, she's down to 37 pounds and her body condition is now "ideal".

For a twelve year old dog with a paralyzed leg, it's good news.

I worry about her a lot, but hopefully she's gonna be with us for a few more years.

Naturally... she took a celebratory roll in the grass.

She still has her good days and bad days with mobility, but for the most part she's getting around pretty well.

It'd help if she'd stop jumping around like crazy when it's food time, but... dogs.

Thanks! And she is. It probably doesn't hurt that we have a doggy neighbor that she's fence friends with.

It's the funniest thing... he's a big pittie mix and he's always barking at her when she's outside.

So she'll slowly make her way to the fence.

Both of them, tails wagging like crazy.

And a few times I've caught her lying down on our side, with the other dog lying down on their side, right next to her.

our dogs never got along well with other dogs...so hearing stories of dogs being friends is always super cute

she has a good life
