Yes, it is. I keep seeing people blaming politicians and FOX and the NRA for this, but the biggest reason we can't get anything to happen is because of all the US citizens who simply don't want it to change. It's a bit of a feedback loop, actually; FOX and the NRA encourage voters to love their guns, and the voters keep watching FOX and supporting the NRA.

90% of Americans favor universal background checks. The other 10% comprise the majority of voters in Republican primaries. Until a Republican gets voted out because of inaction on this issue, that is not going to change.
