I started the assignments for my first summer class this summer! I signed up for 3. The last class starts in the last half of the summer semester so it should work fine. It will be a squeeze but to me, it's worth it. I can finish my university study a little quicker than expected if I take more classes in the summer.

My manager does not need to know I'm taking more than one class. She has made it clear that she doesn't think much of my studies unless it interferes with my focus. She likes to pick on me for being distracted or making errors. But who is perfect? I never claimed to be flawless. I am studying for myself and my future career growth. She can go pound sand.

Yesterday she dared to say in a meeting that a new employee is such a numbers geek, the benefits/payroll clerk, and compared the girl to the accountant. But the girl doesn't have a master's degree like the accountant. I didn't like her statement cuz it suggests that a degree is worthless. Manager does not even have a bachelor's degree. Sour grape.

And of course, I felt slighted. I'm working on my second bachelor's degree, putting in this effort and time. And I'm somehow not as bright as the payroll clerk who is 10 years younger than me and is relatively inexperienced in the work force.

A degree doesn't get the job done, experience and actual work does.

Tillie : This is true! She just can be insensitive with how she expresses her opinions. Higher education is not cheap and it's unfair to compare education backgrounds which it felt like she was doing.
