Here's the upcoming Wastelands events for this week! All times are in SLT. If you would like to see your own event in The Wastelands posted here, please contact me with details about your event.
Early Notice: PROMAGEDDON - Saturday, May 28, The Wastelands' Prom! Finagle your finest filthy formal wear for the L$1000 outfit contests, wrangle a partner for the special 2-vs-2 Fight Night, and prepare for a day of "elegance" at The Arena! Featuring multiple performers and a descent into Wasted Karaoke. Full schedule forthcoming!
Thursday 5pm: Unstructured Playtime w/ Diamanda Gustafson Live looping, drones and soundscapes: the subtle art of Earballing with Diamanda Gustafson and her menagerie of mostly acoustic sound sources. Here: The Wastelands
Thursday 6pm: [RP] Booze & Blather Tensions rise as the winds do, ruffling hair and feathers alike. Weary scavengers are welcomed to the bar of The N for stiff drinks and strange conversations in this weekly roleplay event. OOC spectators welcome! Here: The Wastelands
Saturday Noon: Wasted Raiders' May Raid Nerd out at SL's SciFi Con! Featuring shops and exhibits related to pop-culture properties and original creations as well. There might be some post-apocalyptic (or passable) stuff lurking in the Near Future or Steampunk sims. If not, WE'LL do the lurking! Meet Here: The Wastelands
Saturday 1pm: Sandling's Evening Madness 2 Hours of musical mayhem that aims to deliver exotic, strange and sometimes questionable music to one's ears. Oddities and ends, weird and wonders. Listen at your own risk! Here: The Wastelands
Saturday 3pm: Fight Night! Come bash your friends' heads in, or just show up and cheer on your favorite fighter! It all takes place in a deviously-trapped arena that's like a mix of Robot Wars and Thunderdome! Salvage, Trophies and Victory Badges for the top 3 winners! WL: Candy Scrit for all participants! Here: The Wastelands
Saturday 5pm: Apo's Audio Atrocities Somewhere in The Wastelands, quite possibly on a roof, there's going to be some noise. There might be a theme. There might be abject randomness. There's only one way to find out. Location TBA - tune into Group Chat at 5pm to find out whose home she's defiling this week.
Sunday 5pm: OH GOD, WHAT IS EVEN HAPPENING?! The main event this week is an utter insane trainwreck of a movie: 1981's Roar stories of it's production are legendary. I can't even begin to summarize adequately here.
The other film is 1961's "Nude on the Moon" It is a movie as charming as it is stupid.
Tuesday 5pm: Double feature picture show with Wasteland Drifter "The Testament of Dr. Mabuse" (Das Testament des Dr. Mabuse, 1933, 2h1m, dir. Fritz Lang) "The Testament of Dr. Mabuse" (Le Testament du docteur Mabuse, 1933, 1h33m, dir. Fritz Lang) Here: Burnt Oak
Wednesday: 7pm: HOSTILE BROADCAST "Discreet Music" Listening Party
This week brings us the absolute antithesis of last week's featured album
Where MMM was a nonstop wall of buzzing feedback and drones, DM features incredibly quiet, delicate tones that fall in and out of the threshold of hearing.
