I just read the last ch which was todoroki vs dabi and honestly it was FINE? NOT BAD but i was thinking 'man this is a weird final match up given all the focus they put on endeavor and hawks vs dabi previously instead--lord they just do not have time to touch on that, huh'
IT COULD STILL SURPRISE US BUT /looks at how rapidly these chapters are going. looks at how many characters there are with things over their heads. sweats.
and it's working cause spy x family is huge right now, chainsaw man is one of the most anticipated shows of the year, JJK 0 and demon slayer train did massive at the box office
(I also vaguely wonder that for the west too, cuz I feel like it's been a While since we've had a new franchise really dominate everything, ala pokemon or [redacted wizards] and such)
gawd i feel bad for how much i deeply don't care about black clover wheeze. i hope it does well but it seems like a bunch of generic shounen mashed together.
i've heard black clover gets a lot better. i've only read the last, like, year or two's worth, and it is some of the most impressively drawn magic battles i've seen
just popping into say that demon slayer is was such a hit that it outsold one piece at both of their heights and is over but still topping charts. The jjk, spy x family etc are huge yeah, but the reason their sales are insane is because of anime rush to buy the manga. Of course people buying vol 1-14 all would lead to millions in circulation.
on another note, MHA is kind of interesting to me b/c it has pretty frequent anime movies like say One Piece, Detective Conan, precure. Demon Slayer and JJK 0 anime movie releases were huge but i don't see them as series that will go the new anime original movies route (so far it's just been canon manga material)
of course Demon Slayer ended up being being huge with young and older demographics but I think that was way way way beyond expectation, which is a sign of audience tastes are kind of changing. Demon Slayer, JJK, Chainsaw Man being relatively depressing narratives and themes
The crucial part though is that they may seem depressing, they give people a reason to hope it will end well. It isn't grimdark fantasy but just "yeah sometimes people make mistakes/try their best and die but that doesnt mean the world is over"
do a sequel or something?? or like... allow more spinoffs...
Jujutsu Kaisen- 30,917,746.
Demon Slayer- 29,511,021.
Tokyo Revengers- 24,981,486.
WHICH BLOWS MY MIND BECAUSE I THOUGHT MOST PEOPLE OWNED IT BY THEN????
