He's going to have to talk to the locals about how they manage to breed livestock and such and do his best to employ their methods... Otherwise any chocochicks born will inevitably die. And no one wants that!!

On the plus side, because time is all weird, when the chocobos are born they can grow up pretty fast! It's just keeping them safe until that point.
