I feel like this arc is where you can really see Togashi pivoting from the power level fisticuffs, or at least starting to as it's still there to a degree (and will continue to be).
Chapter Black was a fun time for me of. Watched Dark Tournament on Toonami, which is as far as it went initially there. So I was buying the DVDs with 4 episodes a piece that were coming out like. Bi-Monthly, give or take.
Funimation would actually regularly ship DVDs weeks before their street dates and Best Buy would just shove them out there because they didn't care, I got to a point where, since my job was a few stores down, I knew the day those YYH DVDs would hit weeks before they were supposed to.
There was a weird thing also with Chapter Black where. The Japanese theme is actually a slight remix, but Funimation didn't bother. So as the obsessive little weirdo I was, when watching the dub I'd change audio tracks for the OP and change back.
