I like apples, I know I like apples, so why do I balk so much at taking an apple from a bag and eating it?

See, I love apples and I tend to avoid getting them because I know my teeth are shit and the idea of biting into a whole apple is daunting. So when I do get apples, I just have to remember to cut them up a bit and it's less daunting.

I've got no physical reason for not wanting the apple. It taunts me.
