Man, twitter is weird about coming up with weird reasons to not like movies aimed at children. Like, me? I just don't find any recent 3D kids film animation appealing, nothing bad, just not my thing. But then you get things like the Turning Red review where he criticizes it for not mentioning 9/11, or the 10 million "Buzz Lightyear is a republican" jokes.

That means it's super catering to teenage girls and coming for them where they live

Not everything needs to have broad appeal, it's kinda good it's catering really hard to certain experiences bc those people will feel more seen by it

like, I'm a 34 year old dude with no kids. From what I've heard, I'd probably find something to enjoy if I chose to watch it, but like...aside from not liking the animation, it's also not designed to directly appeal to me

I also think people have forgotten that you can just...like or dislike things without it being a part of your moral fiber or whatever

personally I'd be more neutral about Turning Red if both Twitter and YouTube didn't think I needed to see someone's clips of it every time I browse either platform. Even Encanto wasn't recommended to me as much! But that's more being tired of being recommended it and reminded that I still don't find the animation appealing than the movie itself being bad
