my mom: pick a dress or jumpsuit pattern me, several hours later and several fashion decisions deep: this button up shirt MUST have safari pockets and underarm gussets!
ultimately it comes down to what seems more painful: finding and purchasing the kind of bra i would want for the kind of jumpsuit i would make, or drafting and sewing a classic button-down (which has many moving parts involved with the fit) and vest (somewhat ditto, but less so)
(gender presentation is also a factor here, but how i will want to present at the time i'm wearing this is basically impossible to predict so we're pretending that's not a factor)
also my tastes in waistcoat unfortunately make it a lot harder to fit on my body because a lower/more open neckline would be a lot more compatible with giant tiddies but i want my waistcoat to button up to like mid-chest at least
