replurking a space pirate on the TDM because i want more tags and now this will be loss event thoughts

here is my list of things quentin could lose and i could potentially play with:
-sight
-touch
-all small spells that he uses casually, can only do big magic or sex magic
-spells from his discipline
-his ability to get into subspace
-his enjoyment of a particular sex act

so lemme just talk through the development i'd get out of each of these to organize my thoughts and i bet one or two will jump out as clear frontrunners lol

discipline spells would just be a way for him to learn what his discipline is. but i am gonna canon update at some point, probably in a few months, once he's well-established in the game. so he would know it then

(the reason i picked this canon point is because he's a little bit less beaten-down which is more fun for me to play and TBH I'M GLAD because that openness has been better than i even expected)

the purpose of getting him established first is so he can sort of shake off the exhaustion of season 4 faster!

if i updated him now he'd just be that super burnt out shell of himself goign forward but if he's happy and settled in dup he'll just be a burnt out shell for a couple of weeks

okok so touch and subspace and sex act would all be a similar thing, i'm struggling to articulate it but like...sort of learning new ways of connection? maybe proving to himself that he can connect with people and have value to them outside of whatever it is he normally does with them?

the particulars of touch would probably involve still having sex and giving people pleasure so tbh i feel like this is just his denial kink but like the turbo version

sex act would mean he probably just wasn't willing to perform whatever act he lost, which actually could be good because it would sort of move toward thoughts of "i can say no if i want to" and "i don't have to do things i don't like for the sake of others"

which he like sort of understands but could use reinforcing

this is different from touch because if he lost his sense of touch he would still get all the non-physical benefits of things, there's basically no sex act that is purely physical for him, and also he's willing to give up one act he gets nothing out of more than he's willing to give up ALL sex when he still gets the mental benefit

subspace would be interesting to play him doing the normal things he does but it being much more of a like, endurance thing? the right headspace can sort of mold him to what a scene requires and i think he'd still like a lot of what he does but it would be much harder, he might fuck up more often or not be able to take as much

that said i don't know that it would be much more than interesting to play for a scene, i think the long-term benefit he'd get would be like..."i don't only enjoy these things because i lose my brain, it's good anyway" and idk that that's an insight that would change much for him or he really needs

although there could be some utility in being able to explain what's good about something while he's in it, which he normally can't

sight would be about relying on and trusting other people so tbh i don't think he needs that now but i'm keeping it in a pocket for if he ever gets sort of bruised and closed off and i need a way to make him relax a little

small spells would just frustrate and piss him off so i don't think that's great either

okay so clearly sex act is the winner here because that fits in to what i've already been wanting to move him toward, now i just have to pick an act
