which city are you going to?

ᗩNUBIS : well, I wanted to visit for Mardi Gras but that is over, I have no idea where to visit, what is a good area to see as a newbie besides New Orleans Anubis?

if you want real Cajun culture then you want to go to Lafayette or the little towns around it. every city in Louisiana is different and known for different things. I live in the capital, it has its own draws. new Orleans is history personified. they have tourism down to a science because it's their biggest money maker.

there's plenty to do without Mardi gras being in the way.

in south Louisiana you want Lafayette, Lake Charles, Baton Rouge and New Orleans. all on interstate 10. you can visit all of them.

I've actually heard it's better to go not during mardi gras but then again I have hella anxiety so thats probably why I've been told that lol

Mardi gras is only good if you want to party and get wasted. there's history and culture there but the average Joe wont care about all that.

plus everything is marked up between 200 - 500%

this is the best time to visit because of the beautiful weather. summer is ridiculous.

Go at Halloween mzzy.. it's second best holiday there

I love the parts I've seen, but I am not the typical tourist, since I live down the road, as it were.
