[small town life] Hey, remember that casino that had one employee take 9k in two weeks? Last night, unrelated to that, but a shift manager got called in for a guy who refused to pay because he said employees stole his things, and walked in to a woman punching a clerk
because a guy tried to walk out of the place without paying for his hotel room, enraged and saying that a maid had stolen his things - and he was claiming that people at the casino had signed a thing agreeing his stuff had been stolen
casinos are a combination of alcohol, drugs, people who have been there entirely too long without actually sleeping, and people stressed about money woes. It is a powderkeg
Apparently her and this clerk had been just been douchebags at each other the entire night? like, the clerk was also a prick, let it be said. and he called her a cunt, to put it plainly
anyway, so while they're chasing after this chick, another cop is talking to the initial dude that the manager was first called in to deal with - the same manager who is now pouring over hours of security video for any sign that someone actually did steal stuff and/or throw it away
> Cop: Can you tell us what was stolen exactly? . ...Oh, is that a hospital bracelet? Did you just get out of a hospital? > Guy: Oh, yeah, I left it because the doctor was trying to kill me with cyanide > Cop, guaranteed to get No mental health training on basis of his job to start with, and 200% not as a small town cop: ..............so what was stolen?
when i was working in a nursing home, we had a few residents who you could not go into their rooms by yourself. If you did they would accuse you of stealing things. One of them was so bad we set up a camera to prove to her that no one was doing that; turns out she was hiding things to 'keep them safe' and then forgetting she hid them
Yeah, like - honestly the right move for him or anyone who was working at that casino, I can guarantee you that no one in this town has the right kind of training for that. Best to just stick to the issue at hand.
Anyway, at that point, manager had gone through hours of footage, found nothing, and wasn't going to do anymore. They keep things left in rooms for 30 days, no matter the value or condition (according to her), so she's positive nothing was thrown out
This one less absolutely shitshow, just a drunk guy who was given three cards to three different rooms... except two of the rooms were occupied, because they'd all been paid in his name which was why he got all three keys, but the other two were just, like, his coworkers or something
> Guy: Oh, yeah, I left it because the doctor was trying to kill me with cyanide
