I have met them in the past, for me they've ended up being 3yr long relationships. The first was wonderful, but we were at different places in our lives - still friends today 15 yrs later. The second was abusive and awful. I have multiple friends and roomies from SL, as well as relationships/friends/roomies from WoW too. Most of them were great.

yes, I've been with him for 10 years this year. It went great, he came and stayed with my parents because I was still living with them. We explored my city, of course he did the tourist thing and was taking pictures the whole time and me I'm just like yeah yeah...haha. He visited me a total of 4 times before he moved to my state. I agree with papaya8704: take things slow, don't rush them. I didn't rush it with me and look where we are, we're living on our own with a devil cat and we've made it work. If you're scared or worried to meet them then take someone you trust with you, I took my mom to the airport to pick him up when I first meet him.

yes, take things very slow. multiple meetings. trusted friends picking up and checking in. listen to your friends/family if vibes are bad and weird because love can be blind & bad situations happen. especially with long term friends turned lovers, you're so used to seeing only one side of them. people ARE different irl, but sometimes better.

Yes, two of them. One was a few years after the matter and there wasn't any kind of spark there. The second meeting was nearly 16 years ago and he's lying next to me now.

Nope, never. For one, I'm married in RL and we're both active in SL. Second, my first SL "relationship" was a thing that the other person never acknowledged as a relationship. Third, my current SL significant other lives too far away, but She, I, and my husband are happy getting together in SL.

Yep, 15 years ago we met in SL, 6 weeks later I flew across the country and never went back. We got married 5 years ago

My SL SO pretty much became my RL right away. Circumstances prevent us from physically living together permanently at the moment so we've been long distance for 6 years. Haven't visited for 2.5 years now because of Covid.

My SL EX before my current partner also became RL, but that lasted only a year. He was an asshole. That didn't have anything to do with the SL situation though.

No. We’ve been the best of friends for years. We have talked of us meeting along with our spouses, but I doubt that will come to pass. Miles between us.

We are 14 hours by car or 4 hours by plane apart so not that bad

I had a bad experience with meeting in RL, lots of chemistry online, very little in person we broke up after, but it is hard - you don't want to hurt their feelings

it is better to find out now than waste time with something which isn't going to work

it is hard when they are totally into you, and they leave you cold - and you are really close friends after chatting for so long in SL so feelimgs can get really hurt - I found it really awful - I would only date in SL again if I met fairly quickly in person

good you are meeting up now, but also if chemistry is not there make it possible to have an escape plan - the ability to get a hotel etc. \
