"today's political themes" it features girls of multiple ethnicities with the main character and her family being asian, that's political don'tcha know,
something I noticed in the middle of another plurk about this: we gotta decouple Disney and Pixar from this, because the only Disney film I've seen that got stink-eyed like this is Princess and the Frog, whereas every Pixar film with a non-white human lead (not counting the very male-coded non-humans) has been eviscerated in the short term
I wonder if it's because male fascist nerds don't generally care about/have fond memories of Disney films since the princess fare has always been more about girls than boys
oh yes it's definitely about teaching kids to disobey their parents and not about, i dunno, growing up and forming your own identity separate from your parents
Didn't understand why all the Canadian references, Pixar is based in California.
LMAO
