Hey guys, two things! First, a little interest check boost (new top levels + people are still searching for partners!) Secondly, we're using this plurk as a Q&A for newbies and vets to chat about the short-term game experience, since we have a lot of newbies who are interested ๐ฅณ
Newbies, feel free to ask any questions you may have about the general format/pacing/etc. and veterans, feel free to chime in with your own experiences!

: it depends! in my experience i've had cr go super turbo and then either end in a ship or it crashed and burned, or i've had slower cr where it takes a while for various reasons (i.e. my character and another is super cagey, trust issues, too much emotional baggage etc)
on the whole its going to be way more expedited in whichever way it goes, depending on activity/how hard you go just by nature of the game having a set ending two months away

things in general tend to go pretty fast but there's as much variation in how quickly cr develops as there would be in a long term game! also a lot of mg or short-term games are like, pressure cooking settings
danybel mainly it's just if certain things are going on, things will be telegraphed well in advance OOC just so people can be aware/around for them when they happen. like weekend activities or, in context of murdergames, trials or motive drops or whatever
to add on to pom's point: there have been more than a few times where during the weekdays, people might be like "my character wants to investigate a room/blow something up/etc. does anyone want in" and we kind of plan oocly for that as well
yeah, mgs tend to have much tighter schedules! you don't have as much time for things to happen so you kind of need to know when to expect things are going to happen and have the players aware of when An Event is planned
sometimes we can just kind of do it if it's not going to impact the game/setting too much (on a larger scale), like if it's a room investigation we can be like "okay how's this afternoon" or something. but if it's like...coordinating with a larger group then we'll probably try to actually schedule it a little more in advance
or if it's like "i'm gonna blow up a building" we'd be like okay hang on let's schedule a time for this LOL, if that makes sense, since that might be something that requires more planning

: re: private convos, the answer is on our faq! basically if you really want to lock a conversation with another character you can have it labeled as "locked" in your top level/subject header in the thread, but generally we'd like all convos between to be on the comm except for like...nsfw and anything that you feel a pc
ok, so! yeah, the main mission will always take place on saturdays with smaller stuff/mingling taking place throughout the week; we were discussing the possibility of hosting CYOAs (choose-your-own-adventures) today, which is looking pretty likely, though!
for those who don't know CYOAs will basically be like mini adventures for smaller groups and it'd probably OOCly take a few days to finish, so we'd ideally start earlier in the week. completely optional
ICly it wouldn't take longer than like, a day i think and those would be on a signup basis
yes! we haven't really done full-scale ones ourselves but we've seen a couple of them and they look like something we'd enjoy running (and hopefully you guys would like playing in them too)
also the cyoas are gonna be forward-dated ICly so you guys won't have to worry about it like, icly taking place on monday and then not wanting to do anything on tuesday in case something happens!
also convos with the npcs will be private! but that's about it
