Reuters is reporting lines from Ukraine's negotiator this afternoon, who is quoted as saying they believe there could be "results" from their talks with Russia in the coming days.
A Russian delegate has offered fresh hope of a breakthrough in talks with Ukraine, saying there has been significant developments and that the two sides may be able to reach a joint position "soon".
RIA news agency quoted Leonid Slutsky as comparing the state of the talks now with the situation when they first started, and saying there was "substantial progress".
Mykhailo Podolyak : "We will not concede in principle on any positions," he said in a video posted online.
"Russia now understands this. Russia is already beginning to talk constructively. I think that we will achieve some results literally in a matter of days."
