every time a Horizon game comes out, a week later a masterpiece redefines open world gaming

that’s a bruh moment

Horizon just kept getting rekt

I’m reminded of the single most blatant act of publisher malice I can remember, EA shipping out Titanfall 2 to die the same week as Battlefield 1

Just shoot your own game right in the foot

Forbidden West being sandwiched between Dying Light 2 and Elden Ring has that same energy

I mean Forbidden West probably performs better

Forbidden West is evidently selling very well but in fairness to them, when they originally had their February date, Elden Ring was January.

They were safe.

They had dodged the BOTW2 bullet.

And then Elden Ring pushed to end of February.

I don't really think Dying Light 2 would've been as big of a consideration for either of them, tbh. Like that's doing well and everything, but it feels like that goes at a different audience whereas Horizon and Elden Ring I think may have more overlap.

(Not to mention DL2 having EXTREMELY mixed reactions to the story)
