[PLA-adjacent] Regional-variant evolutions for starters are a very interesting concept, but is it something that can be done outside of a 'gaiden game' like PLA, or should we not expect such things from Pokemon SV?

starters are such a big deal, i don't think we'll see new regional variants for starters in games where those aren't your starter choices

but they probably will make the hisuian starter variants available in some way in the new games

I'm actually kinda interested in revisiting other regions with a different smattering of starters to see what would happen

i don't necessarily think the time-travel angle can be done again, but the introduction of new(er) pokemon elsewhere might be worth exploring

oh for sure, i'd like to see other Pokemon Legends style games that do a region during a different time period of its development

Hoenn comes to mind, actually
