unless you're going for Dark Knight, but even if you do who ever remembers he learns Frozen Lance 83

/honestly training him in lance and bow can be really useful since there are magic versions of both weapons and bow training helps Dark Magic's AWFUL hit rate

but that'sa lot of investment in Bert when honestly it's easier to just recruit Lysthia at that point lol

but that's 100% why he used it instead of his way more effective magic- cuz no one would assume he COULD do a clean murder with a melee weapon

bonus: he's from a non CF route so if he ever did a kill he'd have Heartseeker

tho most playable route would probs give him that anyways since dark mage is just obvious for him... but yeah even harder to dodge his ass
