So got a email addressing how we're not getting the papers needed when patients are in front of us apparently, but I know for a fact that when I'm working admissions, I check for that stuff. So I make sure the papers that are needed yet are signed.

The only exceptions to this are when an ambulance comes in and we have to bring the paperwork and wrist band right away or when they're under 18 and not with an adult because we can't have them sign for it then.

I've had police bring in 15 year olds for medical clearance and that police officer is not responsible for signing for them.

So my boss says even when it's an ambulance that offer to come back and have them sign it since it's not their job to do so and might not see it. It can't get in the way of tending to the patient

1) When I bring it over, I put it before the wristband so they would HAVE TO HAVE SEEN IT.

2) it literally takes a minute or two to sign them and if the patient can't, family or nurses can sign it for them with a note of their relationship to the patient. That's also valid
