Good for you!

ヽ(*⌒▽⌒*)ノ : Fortunately I had some canned custard. :-D

mimi : :-) I’ve been sleep-deprived for decades, mostly due to taking care of my parents 24/7. I’m sensitive to even minor disruptions of my sleep.

I wish I’d taken my friend’s apartment after he left 30 years ago. My whole life would have been different!
Joan_W
I recently looked it up on a map and saw it was very close to U of Toronto, Casa Loma, and the heart of the Downtown. I’d thought that $400/mo rent was too much! (doh)

(LOL)
🇺🇦 Fouinardz 🇺🇦
ヽ(*⌒▽⌒*)ノ : Thank you, I sure did.
Joan_W
ヽ(*⌒▽⌒*)ノ : The apartment came with a garden planted by Italians. There were grapes growing everywhere! (doh)
ヽ(*⌒▽⌒*)ノ
$400/mo depends on the size and location it may be not so bad? 🤔 if it is nice and juicy grapes, it sounds interesting actually (mmm)
Joan_W
ヽ(*⌒▽⌒*)ノ : It was a 1 bedroom apartment with a bonus room in the basement in Toronto, $400/mo, in the early ‘90s. My last apartment had 2 bedrooms and was a 5 minute walk from school, for $200/mo in the early ‘80s. Where I am now is a 1 bedroom, $1700/mo, everything included. Crazy!
ヽ(*⌒▽⌒*)ノ
:-o wow!!! what a difference :-(
Joan_W
ヽ(*⌒▽⌒*)ノ : The Toronto area is crazy expensive. If I’d known, I would have finished my education in Montreal!
Joan_W
I should ask my nephew what he pays for rent in Montreal.
Joan_W
Twenty years ago I could have bought a house for $200,000 in my area. Now they’re going for about a million!
Joan_W
In the early 80s I was earning less than $3/hr. When I retired in 2003 I was earning $18/hr. Now I’d be making about $30/hr. I’ve given some thought to going back to work once covid settles down. (thinking)
ヽ(*⌒▽⌒*)ノ
oh wow that sounds really high, or is it normal price range in that area? :-o oh! 30/hr sounds quite decent actually! :-) when this all comes to an end, you should give it a try!

You have to be young and healthy like that mother.
