when i say i bought this game for Growlithe i mean it

most of my grinding in the first two areas was thorough scouring to make sure i didn't miss pubby somewhere

finally get to third area, find the NPC who's got two of them, and i spend the whole cutscene going "GIVE ME YOUR DOGS"

"this one is the heir and future lord of the region"
"....so what you're saying is the other one is free"

The game didn't offer a way to play fetch with the sad puppy to cheer it up, 0/10 would not recommend

i would have picked Cyndaquil as my starter but i knew there was pubby and pubby takes priority as resident fire team member

honestly the fact that you can only talk to the pokes rather than petting them is a huge point against it

also a Distortion Area spawned right on top of me and it was kind of terrifying

ok so i maintain that not being allowed to pet the pokes is a huge minus, but one thing i genuinely adore is that some wild pokes will just. vibe with you and hang out!!!

yanma circle around you all curious. tangela sits down with its little booties in front of it and watches you. Unown bobble back and forth near you excitedly (once you get the full alphabet, they just spawn like normal pokes in the ruins)

it's cute as hell

also if you fling your pokemon at the ground near each other they’ll like roar at one another or sleep

yesss when they fall asleep i have warm feelings

I just had a Psyduck dance a circle around me and usually, at least in a different area, Psyduck attack me.
