saw this display at my bookstore today

I didn’t know the fault in our stars was a banned book

er I guess it’s perks of being a wallflower not fios

I remember in high school banned books were a huge trend, it sucks we're still fighting this battle

yeah i think the john green book that gets banned is looking for alaska more than the fault in our stars

when I was in high school my school encouraged and/or required us to read banned books and at the time I thought it was dumb

now...now I get it

yeah, flashbacks to my high school english classes where catcher in the rye and huck finn were both required reading

also slaughterhouse v which i'm surprised is not up there

there were some kids in my class who's parents wouldn't let them read that

yeah i remember having some of these as required reading and they werent banned at the time so that's interesting to realize

I bought my son the first two to convince him to try chapter books because I heard kids love them; he's a fluent reader but he doesn't like to sit down and read anything longer than a few pages, so I'm like let's bribe him!
