(BTVS) ( sort of) reading the faith lehane backstory novel and..........

i'm pissed all over again about this take i saw saying faith was already too far gone by the start of consequences because "a good person (buffy) immediately takes responsibility and tells the authorities"

already a garbage take without even looking at all the ways that she's been fucked over by authority in her life. which are A Lot.

i don't agree with all of it since it is non canon but i like some of it and it recontextualizes a lot of her trust issues surrounding authority and the way that buffy's life just seemed extremely priveleged from her perspective.

i'll figure out what entirely i'm incorporating by the time i'm done

i appreciate the way that her rage increased as a result of her awakening as a slayer

and the story of her first vampire. which was a little boy that died fifty years ago that the parents were keeping locked in the attic and they started taking in foster kids to feed him
