i wish the internet were a nicer place in general, but i especially kinda wish people would differentiate between men who proudly proliferate toxic masculinity and the men whom it's done a number on.

like, by all means, dunk on every jerk who mocks other men for, like, wearing pink or going to the spa

but the guy who feels the need to make a joke 'to diffuse the tension' if he's wearing pink
or doesn't want people to know he went to the spa

sometimes people bag on those guys just as hard, and that seems... very not cool to me

yeah i don't get that bc those people need support

(especially since they could have family situations, workplace dynamics, and social circles where they absolutely will get mocked for that.)

like if somebody's insecure about smth dunking on them is going to make it worse, especially when we do live in a society that's so toxic toward men doing anything that could be seen as "feminine"

like, it is good to contest the preconceived notion that prompted their insecurity

but some people do it like

"Hey, there's nothing unmanly about getting a pedicure, dipshit >:| "
