[uni] i maintain that it is utter bullshit that to get a b.s. in compsci i need to take courses that are meant for, like, bio/phys/eng majors

there's disclaimers all over the class pages about

"hey if you're not doing premed or majoring in this discipline you probably don't need to be here"

and yet here i am anyways

As someone who teaches those physics classes, it is equally hard. Because we try to target them to an intended audience, which means if I suspect the class is 90% bio-majors/pre-health, I teach it slightly differently than if I had the, IDK, the architecture students

two non-comp sci science labs? That's bizarre. Especially if it's flat out saying that "yeah you don't need to be here if you're not a bio major" since it's not like it's a 100 level course

in my old neuroscience major i actually had to take artificial intelligence and coding classes so... i feel u

if it makes you feel any better, when my father was working on the same thing in the '70s, they made him take mandatory phys. ed. classes as well. gotta get those computer nerds some exercise, I guess.

I just filled up the elective gaps in my English degree with stuff from all kinds of faculties so I could learn all kinds of things in hopes that it would all one day be useful. That mostly worked, actually, though I still hated that one angelology class.
