would advice be helpful or unwanted here? someone taught me a trick that made it a bit easier.

Sure thing

Pick your first two words so that you hit RSTLNE and at least a couple other vowels. Combos I've seen people used: STARE/OUIJA, ALIEN/ROUTS, and my own personal HILTS/YEARN.

That'll give you the most common letters in English, and if those are all eliminated, what's left is easy picking.

The other day, all the letters were in my first two words, so I just had to unjumble them into a word.
