i dreamed i went to the supermarket and saw someone i (dream) knew standing in the checkout line with her two kids and somehow i ended up in line chatting with them?

at some point i mentioned some tasty snack or other and the mom immediately rushed off to get some and i was like THEY HAVE INDIVIDUAL PACKAGES RIGHT HERE AT THE CHECKOUT SNACKS THOUGH? and she was like YOU THINK I JUST WANT THOSE DINKY THINGS?

then while she was gone i somehow got hold of a thing of sliced ham i was planning to buy, and i don't say package here because i was literally just holding the slices in my hands? i also picked up a separate slice from i forget where to give to the mom when she came back

so when it was my turn in the line i put down my ham on a large lettuce leaf and the separate slice was put down next to it and i explained i was just holding it for a friend but the checkout guy insisted it didn't work that way and that i'd have to pay for both

i forget how we got out of that but i chatted with the kids about california (they were planning to go there) and how i'd Totally Never Been There but they should definitely go to [insert all the attractions i've been to there]

the next part of my dream was on aaaaa what do you call those big vans that're also houses? i was on one of those, with maybe around five other people (i'm guessing by feel rather than how many people i remember seeing)

at one point this girl (one of the owners?) showed me this trap door in the car which she didn't know what to do with but she explained it was like a cellar or something and i said her cat could probably hide in it so we got the cat and prepared to drop it in to see if it'd work out

except after the cat dropped in i realized this wasn't a cellar compartment it was literally a trap door off the car into the forest a million miles below

somehow we saved the cat though

then my dream changed again and i was wandering around in one of those areas with lots of small businesses and a tiny parking lot? one of the stores was a religious organization i think

i forget what i came there for or which building i walked into ultimately or if maybe this is what transported me into that car, but that's all i remember
