We call it back bacon or peameal bacon, but it's not the same as what you call Canadian bacon bc that is some kind of reconstitued ham and back bacon is the tenderloin cut coated in corn meal (bc they use that instead of pea meal now).
It’s like someone saw back bacon once, went ‘oh, roundish pork’ and then attempted to imitate it out of whatever pig bits were laying around the kitchen.
