Omg thank you so much for sharing this. My husband was our guild’s main healer in WoW and although he was super nice on mic, the amount of times I’ve heard him say half of that off mic lololol

Then again I was usually tank so we’d just trash talk dps pulling everything and standing in shit to each other

Although I have an exception for sprouts just learning

my healer OC when I was doing progression raiding was a massive tauren (minotaur) who I thought of as having a lady R. Lee Ermey voice and a massive cigar

I would be very hard working and deferential with my actual guild because they were actually trying their best but I also did LFR and I would usually take point on basically screaming people into doing the strategy because most of them didn't look it up all and weren't paying attention and I wasn't there to die

bluecanary : O.M.G. People who do not look up raid strategies and hop on in without knowing anything and immediately get themselves killed are my pet peeve

i do not still play, legion lore pissed me off even before the activision stuff came out ... the thing in pick-up raids with strangers is that 95% of them ive found arent malicious or trolling they just assume it will be easy and they can follow the group

most of them are actually glad if you break down what they need to do moment to moment into simple directions

& the ones who think theyre smarter than you and will ignore it will fall in line if you add in a reason for the command

u can watch them think through the process of - is there another way i can think of to handle bombs? i have 3 seconds. no, i need to spread.

calling people out by name also helps. dont say "healer go tower" pick a random name and call them out and tell them to go . ...idk. i found it a fun challenge.

Mind you, I currently play Warrior on FFXIV so I'm... really a fifth healer because I can basically heal myself from empty when I'm fighting a bunch of enemies at once with a particular skill about every 18 seconds
