Since I mentioned it in another plurk, I may as well spill the details here. Several years back I got a pacemaker. (Wheefun, A+++, would not recommend ) Wednesday the pacemaker got replaced with a pacemaker/defibrillator since the two sides of my heart weren't quite beating in sync anymore and the old pacemaker couldn't deal with that.

Everything is working great now and the left side of my upper chest is a little thicker. I've had heart issues for quite a long time so none of this even fazes me at this point. I've been a cyborg for a while and now I have upgrades.

The hospital was taking extra precautions for covid ever since Maine became one of the worst places for infections. (we did so well at first...) They made me put a surgical mask on over my N95 and everybody was double-masked or shielded, even patients in bed. I'm wearing a mask around my mother for the next few days, just in case.

Congrats on the upgrade and I hope you heal up fast with no complications.

So far so good! The surgery site is pretty sore but that's expected. It looks a lot worse than it feels with all the bruising and such.

What a scary time to be in the hospital, but sounds like you're doing well!

I'm honestly more concerned about accidentally giving my mother covid than I am with my surgery. Everybody in the hospital was fantastic too. I've had better food though
