i wrote off my caaaaaaar~

three-car pile up on the A66. I was car number 2. Somehow nobody was hurt but my car is absolutely dead and I had to get my mum to drive out and get me.

so idk how long it'll be until I get home but for now I'm just going to stop at my mum's until I can get another car

the most annoying part is that I had a full tank of petrol at 2022 prices. timing.

also the boot got stuck because the lock broke, so my sister had to crawl around in my car when they got there, to get all my Christmas stuff out of the back

the good news is that it's a very clear case of not-my-fault and the insurance is offering me £800 for the write-off of a car I paid £999 for two years ago

(the lady in front had never driven automatic before, was borrowing her mother-in-law's car and misjudged how hard the brakes would come on)

(so she stopped dead a couple of hundred yards short of the turning she'd been indicating for, but at least she DID indicate so I was going at like 40 and slowing down, and not the 60-70mph I would have been doing otherwise)

my neck's a bit sore but tbh that happens often enough without the need for a car crash that I'm prepared to be like "eh, might just be tension" and not worry about it until and unless it's worse tomorrow
