man how do I know what's executive dysfunction and what's just me being lazy
veth
this plurk brought to you by me lying on the bed unmoving for an hour instead of taking a shower for 10 minutes
veth
in a vacuum I think that sounds pretty executive dysfunction-y but also... I mean I like lying on beds and I don't like taking showers
veth
so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Siv
I read that there's a possible easy way to tell: if you feel at all bad for delaying it, it's possibly executive dysfunction. Laziness just means you don't feel like doing it and you don't really care, I think?
Siv
Showers can really exhaust me, so I delay them. But then I feel bad because I could be doing something I need to but am not.

Siv
oh dang...... well I guess this is very alwayshasbeen.jpg then
Siv
Siv
But it can certainly look like laziness because our wheels are spinning to do the thing but there's no tread underneath.

hugs a lot
merry curesman
yeah, agreed
veth
I really like the tread imagery, that's so much what it feels like
Siv
Yeah. So we have to make our own tread to work with and that's hard. It also doesn't help that, at least in my case, I don't get any happy hormones from Doing The Thing, so there's even less incentive to do it even though I know I'll stop feeling guilty once I do it.
Siv
(it also makes establishing new habits a bitch and a half.)
Siv
(I basically have to consciously choose to do a thing that, for most, would already be an ingrained habit.)
